Early in 2002 I became friends with a young co-worker, Amy, a bookkeeper at the bank. With an artist’s eye I admired her long red hair draping her tall, lanky physique and her chiseled facial structure. While she visited our home one day she allowed me to sketch her.
After transferring her image from my sketch pad to a blank canvas, the creative process took over.

I had been observing the daily gatherings of birds on the telephone lines, trees, and fields that surround my home and became fascinated with their patterns. My "Gathering" exhibit is a symbolic interpretation of these observations and the ways in which they correlate with the human experience.
